Br. Mickey McGrath
Brother Mickey McGrath is an Oblate of St Francis de Sales who lives and works in Camden, NJ. He is the author and illustrator of twenty-one books and is a popular presenter and retreat director at conferences and retreat centers nationwide. Brother Mickey’s work is centered on the healing power of art and its unique ability to unite beauty and social justice, especially as it relates to racial equality. His most recent book is entitled Madonnas of Color.
In March of 2023, Brother Mickey was honored to be the 23rd recipient of the Marianist Award given by the University of Dayton to those who advance the intellectual life of the Catholic Church. Also in 2023, in his role as visiting artist, he led mural projects with community involvement at the University of Dayton and Viterbo University in LaCrosse, WI.
