The Evolution of Irish Spirituality
Tuesdays, April 5, 2022 to May 3, 2022*
10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Robert Meagher
This five-part series will explore the evolution of Irish spirituality from stone circles to stone crosses. The principal sources of early Irish spirituality are threefold: megalithic, Celtic, and Christian, spanning over 5,000 years (4,000 BC–1200 AD). Some of their mysteries are written only in stone, while others are illuminated in exquisite manuscripts. Celtic spirituality, whose consummate expression was early Irish monasticism, represents one of the most rich, resonant, and resilient religious traditions in the world. Each week a multimedia presentation will be followed by discussion.
