Reflection for December 3

Gospel - Matthew 9:35-10:1. 5a, 6-8

Faith itself is seen in our actions and in the actions of others done in Faith. Like the actions of those in today’s gospel – Faith in Jesus heals their blindness. There may be times when faith in action is there for us to see, and yet we choose to turn away and be blind to it.

Isn’t it a blessing then, that we have many other senses to help us experience Faith? Our ears to listen and hear Faith in words, our sense of smell, for something as simple as the scents of Christmas, calling us deep within to enter into this sacred time of year.

May we take moments in this Advent season to be aware of all our senses, and how they bring this sacred season into our hearts and minds so that we may act in Faith sharing our love of Jesus for all to see.
