Reflection for December 7
Jesus is calling us to walk the talk.
What are the words of Jesus this season?
Stay awake!
Repent!
Prepare the Way!
How do we act on His word this season? How do we walk the talk during Advent?
Are we sending a Christmas card to a friend or family member we've lost touch with and are we including ALL family members for our holiday gatherings?
Jesus commands us to love one another. It may not be easy, but it is the foundation of all that we do. We love because He loved us first.
Are we taking time to pray and worship Jesus Christ first before going shopping? Are we giving to those most in need in the same way as giving to family and friends?
Jesus commands us to give thanks to the Father for all we have and then share it with those less fortunate than us.
Are we preparing for Jesus' coming by putting out a nativity set and sharing the Good News with our spouses, kids, parents, community, etc. amidst the busiest time of year?
Jesus commands us to be His hands and feet and to be His disciples. We spread the Good News of Emmanuel - God with us.
God's word is always true, always right, always new. He speaks to us this season of Advent 2023 commanding us to act on His word. It is God's protection for life's storms and this world's weather.
We know that, if we build our faith firmly on His foundation and build our life upon His word with action, we will persevere...thrive... flourish.
