Reflection for Tuesday, Dec. 8

It is safe to say that two of the pillars of our Catholic religion are centered around faith and trust. How many of us would have the same faith and trust as the Virgin Mary and her betrothed, Joseph? They accepted the Angel Gabriel's message that Mary, who had not known man, was to conceive and bear a son named Jesus, of all people. They accepted this message willingly, but not surprisingly, with some trepidation. She could have been scorned and even possibly put to death. Mary exhibited faith that is beyond compare and Joseph remained by her side.

2020 may have caused many to question their faith. We have been tested repeatedly in so many ways and on so many different levels in each of our lives. Have we shown the same faith and trust as Mary and Joseph did when they faced adversity in their lives?

Let us take some time, despite the continued uncertainty in our lives, to reflect and recognize all of the good things God has bestowed upon us. May we all rediscover, and appreciate, the many blessings we have truly been given. Isn't this what faith is about?
