In Memory of Marilyn Parker

Marilyn Parker.jfifThe world became a brighter place on Nov. 7, 1928; the day that Marilyn E. Parker was born in Syracuse, New York. Our Mom went to be with the Lord on Nov. 20, 2022, after a long and happy life.

She was the daughter of the late Charles Francis and Ermelinda "Lil" (Carrano) Edgecomb Sullivan. Her Mom later married John "Jack" Sullivan whom Marilyn affectionately called Pa. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her. She had many friends and will be missed by all who knew her. In 1950, Marilyn graduated from Saint Joseph College in West Hartford. She later married Leroy "Roy" Parker and together they raised a family in Manchester until his passing in 1967. While Marilyn continued to raise the family, she earned a masters degree in education. She then completed a 20-year career as an elementary school teacher in the Manchester School District. Marilyn shared her time and talents with a variety of volunteer activities as well. She was a communicant of St. Bridget Church for 66 years.

Marilyn is survived by her five children Michael L. Parker (Brenda) of Leavenworth, Kansas, Vicki Lindstrom (Keith) of Manchester, Lynn Tordo (Mike) of Shelton, Lisa J. Parker of Coventry, and Marguerite Enderle (John) of South Windsor. She also leaves a legacy of eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; many beloved friends, and former students. Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother Charles Francis Edgecomb.
