Saturday, September 28, 2019
8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Dr. Rickey Cotton
This workshop focuses on the Christian Contemplative Heritage as a vital resource for today’s contemplative life. We begin the discussion with the Christian desert hermits who lived in Egypt, Palestine and Syria from the third to the fifth centuries AD, who sought to transcend themselves and live fully for God using both Jesus and John the Baptist as models. We’ll also look at their key monastic descendants ranging across the fifth to late nineteenth centuries.
Offering: $65, includes lunch
