Collage Class

Wednesday, April 19, 2023
7:00 to 9:30 p.m.
Diane Ward and Kelly Taylor

Join Diane and Kelly, two local artists who have exhibited in the Gallery, and learn how to create a collage. Collage is an artistic composition made of various materials (such as paper, cloth, or wood) glued on a surface. Diane and Kelly will lead the class in understanding the materials, process, and completion of a collage. No experience is necessary, and all supplies will be provided. Collage allows for your own creativity in its assembly to shine through.

This retreat is sponsored by The Monastery Gallery of Art.

Offering: $50 (includes supplies)

This program has reached its capacity. Please contact Ted at tjastrzebski@holyfamilyretreat.org to be placed on our waiting list.

Presenter Profiles

Diane Ward

Diane Ward showed an early interest in drawing and making art. She worked as a graphic designer until graduation from nursing school in 1991. She retired from oncology nursing in 2016. Diane is a member of Syntax: Mixed Media Artists, a group of five women who create art independently and meet regularly to critique each other’s work and to share ideas and techniques.

Kelly Taylor

Kelly Taylor’s artist journey started at an early age when she began experimenting with markers, scissors, paints, paper, and glue.  A love of color, texture, and the visual richness of life have all contributed to her lifelong pursuit of creating art.  Acrylic paints, gels, and pastes; collages, photographs, and photo transfers are some of the materials and techniques she now uses to create abstract art in her home studio. She is a member of Syntax: Mixed Media Artists, a group of five women who create art independently and meet regularly to critique each other’s work and to share ideas and techniques.
