Chinese Brush Painting for Beginners

This two-night beginner’s class explores Chinese Brush Painting, an ancient art form that developed in China hundreds of years ago. The style and technique of Chinese painting have varied greatly over the years -- from very detailed portraits to paintings of flowers executed with large brush strokes. Judy, an expert in the media, will lead participants in the creation of two of the Four Gentlemen - bamboo in the first class and the Chinese Orchid in the next. No experience is necessary, and all supplies will be provided.

Judy Giguere is a teacher of Chinese Brush Painting, artist, historian, and writer. She is the author of The Four Gentlemen: The Art of Chinese Brush Painting. Judy’s goals are to share the joys of Chinese art and history for the benefit of all.
