Bible Study: Gospel of John

Saturdays, August 15, 2020 to October 3, 2020*

9:30 to 11:00 a.m.

Sr. Maryann Cantlon

In this 8-week course, we will explore the symbolism and spirituality of the Fourth Gospel as well as the Christology that underlies it, and we will see how this Gospel can be a source of strength and nourishment in our own lives of faith. The community to which this text was first addressed will become our friends, as will the characters John uses to bring about the gradual revelation of the identity of Jesus. The depth of this Gospel writer’s theology is stunning yet, at the same time, extremely simple. It is a text “ever ancient, ever new.”

To provide as safe an environment as possible, we plan on holding this program outdoors on our covered gallery terrace. As a result, this program is limited to 12 participants.

* Class dates: August 15, 22, 29, September 5, 12, 19, 26 and October 3

Offering: $150

Registration for this program is closed. Sr. Maryann will be offering another bible study program later this fall. To be contacted when more information on this program is available please email Ted Jastrzebski at tjastrzebski@holyfamilyretreat.org
