Spiritual Direction in a Group Setting

Tuesdays, October 1 to November 5, 2024*

This program will allow participants to experience spiritual direction—either for the first time or perhaps in a new way—in a small group setting. Over six weeks, two directors from The Center for Spiritual Direction at Holy Family will facilitate a shared experience of spiritual direction. During these sessions, participants will learn to share and reflect upon their spiritual journeys, hold space and silence together, prayerfully, and deepen their personal practices of prayer. No previous experience in spiritual direction is required.

Presenter Profiles

Ellen Graham

Ellen Graham completed the Spiritual Life Center’s formation and certification program and was certified as a spiritual director in 2004. She holds her BS in Nursing from St Anselm College. Ellen served on Holy Family’s youth retreat team for 15 years, teaching Centering Prayer. She is a certified yoga instructor and a graduate of the MBSR (mindfulness-based stress reduction) program.  Ellen has been facilitating mindfulness meditation & compassion groups for 10 years.


Mary Marsan

Mary Marsan has spent most of her adult life working as a Catholic professional laywoman and retired from the Archdiocese of Hartford, Office of Religious Education. She holds a degree in Art Education and a Master of Divinity degree. During her many years in parish ministry she has been a Director of Religious Education, Pastoral Minister and run many education programs for adults. In 2016 Mary finished the training as a spiritual director and has been doing spiritual direction for many years. During her retirement, Mary has returned to her love of art and enjoys painting and exploring the connection between creativity and spirituality.
