Raise the Roof
College Service Retreat
October 27-29, 2023
Lynnette Colón, Terrie Bournique, and Caelie Flanagan
In the Gospel of Luke, we read the account of a group of friends who lowered one of their own through the roof of a house so that he might be healed by Jesus (Lk. 5:17-39). These friends put their faith into action, seeking the good of another. This is the heart with which Christ calls us to serve. With this in mind, our new service retreat for college students, “Raise the Roof,” enables students to put their faith into action.
The retreat begins on Friday evening with dinner at 6:00 p.m. The weekend will include prayer services, conferences, and opportunity for small-group discussion, exploring Christ’s call to encounter and love our neighbor. On Saturday afternoon, students will split up into ‘teams’ and, under the guidance of a retreat leader, venture off-campus into the local community for an afternoon of service. The retreat concludes Sunday morning with the celebration of Mass, with refreshments to follow.
Offering: $125
