Centering Prayer Introductory Workshop

In this introductory workshop, you will learn the ancient method and principles of Centering Prayer practice in a quiet, reflective atmosphere. We will cover the history, psychology, and theology of the practice. Two prayer sessions and a question-and-answer session are included.
This program will be offered both in-person and online via Zoom. Information on how to access the program on Zoom will be sent to participants in advance.

Presenter Profiles
Mike Smoolca
Mike Smoolca is a contemplative group and workshop facilitator and a dedicated teacher and student of contemplative practice and wisdom spirituality. He is a Contemplative Outreach presenter and coordinator for the Christian Contemplative Experience at Holy Family, Contemplative Outreach of CT, and the Northern CT Chapter of the International Thomas Merton Society. Mike is a practicing spiritual director and BioSpiritual Focusing companion and instructor.
Nancy Stimac
Nancy Stimac is a Contemplative Outreach Lectio Divina Service Team member and a commissioned presenter of Centering Prayer and Lectio Divina. She is certified by the Archdiocese of Hartford’s Catholic Biblical School Lay Ministry program and is a teacher for the Catholic Biblical School. She serves the Catholic community of Windsor Locks by lectoring, facilitating prayer groups, conducting Bible studies, and serving on evangelization teams.
