The Contemplative Spirituality of Icons and Iconography
Contemplative Enrichment Day
Saturday, January 28, 2023
9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (ET)
Marek Czarnecki
Icons in the Orthodox Christian tradition have been used as visual theology and as windows into the spiritual world. Through sacred imagery, the Holy Spirit speaks to the believer, revealing deep truths that may not be evident in other ways, leading the believer into the depths of prayer and contemplation. During this day, we will share the spiritual foundations of icons, reveal the contemplative practice of writing icons, and experience the contemplative practice of praying with icons.
This program will be offered both in-person and online via Zoom. Information on how to access the program on Zoom will be sent to participants in advance.
This program will include a morning and an afternoon session of Centering Prayer.
Offering: $65 (includes lunch)
