Reflection for December 14
The powerful message in Matthew 11:11-15 culminates in the poignant reminder: “Whoever has ears ought to hear.” This assertion challenges us to actively listen for and recognize God’s voice. In a seemingly rudderless world rife with extremes from narcissistic apathy, groupthink intolerance, to savage violence, it encourages us to cultivate a forgiving heart and an open mind. It urges us to be receptive to the transformative message of the gospel. It is not simply an invitation to hear with our ears but, instead, to truly comprehend and then act upon the wisdom and love of Jesus during this Advent season until the next.
