Introduction
Dear Friends,
There is something so peaceful about the idea of Advent. The glow of candles on a dark night, the warmth of a purple cloth to signal the season of hope, and the expectation of Christ's birth in our waiting hearts all combine to make this time of year both comforting and joyful.
It is an honor for me, then, to share this booklet of daily Advent reflections composed by members of our worshipping community at Holy Family Passionist Retreat Center. Each one is a gem and brings a personal message of faith as we await the Savior's birth into the reality of our lives once again this year.
Advent is a brief four Sundays in an already busy season, and this year it is even shorter, since the fourth Sunday of Advent falls on Christmas Eve! All the more reason to find some moments each day to reflect and be grateful.
Please accept this collection as a gift from many good people who are part of our own faith community, and know that through each reflection we can pray for one another on the Advent path to holiness.
Wishing you peace, light, joy, and hope!
